The swim is a 400 yard swim in the Chastain Park Pool. Participants start at one end of the pool and snake their way up and down each lane as they work towards the end of the pool then exit and proceed to the bike transition. Being a pool swim race, participants must submit an estimated swim time when registering. These are the times used for seeding purposes. The swim star will begin with the lowest submitted time which will correspond with your bib number. Please be as accurate as possible and your swim leg will be a more pleasurable experience. Your race time will start when you enter the pool.
The swim must be completed with in 30 minutes- course officials will assist swimmer from the course. Racer will be allowed to complete the event but will not be eligible for awards.
15 mile bike course is scenic and rolling hills.
The bike in 1 1/2 hours and swim- bike split must complete in total of 2 hours for swim-bike split.
5K is very flat and fast and ends at the Chastain Park Amphitheater.
1 hour or total of 3 hours to complete the race.
Since this is a pool swim wetsuits will not be allowed.

Are you interested in volunteering at the race? We'd love to have you! We have volunteer slots for everything from pre-race to post-race needing to be filled by fun, energetic and reliable individuals. You can even make the experience more exciting by getting your friends, youth group or family to join in!
In exchange for volunteering, we will be providing each person with an official volunteer T-shirt and goodie bag. And best of all, you will feel great for helping out all those determined athletes.
Here are some examples of the areas where you can volunteer:
Course Marshall: Cheering on participants and directing them along the course.
Aid Stations: Handing out water and Gatorade along the course.
Registration: Assist athletes with Packet Pick Up and Timing Tag assignment
Finish Line: Retrieving timing tags and handing out finisher's medals
PATH Foundation is a nonprofit group that has developed trails for recreation and commuting since 1991. PATH has completed more than 160 miles of trails in Georgia, including The Silver Comet, Arabia Mountain, Chastain Park, Freedom Park, Lionel Hampton, Northwest Atlanta, South Decatur Trolley, Stone Mountain and Westside. Founded in 2003, the Chastain Park Conservancy (CPC) is a volunteer, not-for-profit, organization dedicated to stewardship and renewal of Chastain Park's natural and developed resources. The Chastain Park Athletic Club is a 501(c)(3) charitable nonprofit organization that has operated the Chastain Park Pool since July 4th, 2002. CPAC was successful in forming a public/private partnership with the City of Atlanta to maintain, operate and revitalize the pool, while promoting aquatics, sports, and safety.
